Hats off to April as our senses begin to thaw and outdoor plans begin to take shape. Whether we look forward to gardening, playing baseball, grilling in the backyard, dining alfresco or simply rolling down our windows in an I-GO car and breathing in the fresh air– we all welcome the season of new beginnings. What’s New at I-GO?
The New Reservation System Is Here!
Beginning April 1, I-GO will be sporting a fresh, new look and a sizzlin’ hot reservation system. You can log on to the new reservation system, as you normally would, from our website using your Member ID and Pin #. If you have our old reservation site URL programmed in your favorites, you will be re-directed to our new site and we recommend you save the new URL to bypass that extra step the next time you wish to log into your account.
If It Aint Broke, Don’t Fix It
Our old system wasn’t broken, but with our rapidly growing membership and fleet, it was becoming less efficient for members. So we’ve ramped up the system and we’re really excited about the expanded vehicle search capabilities. You can search for vehicles near a specific address or neighborhood or by our new Map Locator. Do you only drive Hybrids or maybe you are moving and just want to see available Elements, our new system can search by vehicle type. And the best part is you can save your favorite vehicles so they are only a click away every time you need to make a reservation!
You’ve Got Mail
One of the first things you’ll notice when you log onto our new reservation system is a “Messages” page. It is important for I-GO members to “be informed” so we created this new feature on the opening page of the reservation site where we can post helpful hints or reminders, report timely updates or upcoming changes and provide useful tips or announcements.
Driver’s Ed - “how to make a reservation” tutorial
We know we have smart members, but old habits are hard to break and our new reservation system is different from how you are used to making a reservation. To ensure you have a smooth ride when making a reservation the first time, we encourage you to check out our quick “how to make a reservation” tutorial to get familiar with the new system. CLICK HERE to view it now (it’s a PDF and will take about 3-5 minutes) or come back later to check it out.

The Paperless Trail
- Part of our commitment to the environment is to cut down on our paper usage. Therefore, we are moving all members (with access to the internet) to our electronic invoice system beginning in May. We will email your invoice on the 5th of each month or you can view your invoices in the “My Account” tab on the new reservation system. It’s print-friendly if you ever require a hard-copy or if at any time you wish to receive hard copy invoices from I-GO, you can change your delivery method in the “My Account” tab.

Spring Fling
I-GO hosted two Spring Fling events for members April 25 & 26 where we celebrated good food, shared valuable info, networked with friends and gave away driving credits to members, including two $100 vouchers. If you missed this event, don’t worry- we have more fun events planned this summer, including our big 10,000 member bash! A special thanks to Bella Rosa and CNT for providing the space for our Spring Fling events.
Neighborhood News
Lakeview
Once a sleepy Chicago suburb, Lakeview is now one of Chicago’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Bounded generally by Diversey to the south, Ravenswood to the west, Irving Park and even up to Montrose on the north, and the lake on the east, Lakeview is home to students, families, singles, gays, and straights.
Lakeview’s different sub-neighborhoods give the neighborhood its energy. Wrigleyville, full of sports bars and restaurants, is home to the Cubs. Check out the game at Goose Island Brewing Company, then walk a couple of doors down Clark Street to IO, the improv school and theater, where you may see the next cast member of “Saturday Night Live.”
Halsted Street is the epicenter of the gay neighborhood, and its annual Gay Pride Parade brings thousands of people to the area each June for one of the most fun parades in the city. You can keep the spirit going all year round at fun hangouts like Roscoe’s and Sidetrack.
Southport Avenue is known for great clothing boutiques and the historical Music Box Theater. After a day of shopping, head over to Fizz Bar & Grill on Lincoln Avenue and enjoy a drink in one of the nicest beer gardens in the city.
Along Broadway Avenue in Lakeview East, you’ll find even more restaurants and bars, and fun specialty shops like Pastoral, an artisan cheese shop, and Threadless t-shirts. Lakeview East also has access to Belmont Harbor and Lincoln Park for when you need to take a break from all the action.
If you’d like to share information about your neighborhood, contact Deb Ackles. You could earn up to $20 in driving credits if we use your content in future newsletters.
