Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead. ~Mac McCleary
As certain as the leaves changing color, outdoor festivals nearing an end and the cubs winning the World Series (okay, we're only 99.9% certain about the last one,) I-GO remains an affordable and hassle-free alternative to car ownership. But that's not all… read on for the latest I-GO member news.
What's New at I-GO?
I-GO Picasso
I-GO is contributing to an art project and we'd love your help! You may have noticed some I-GO cars have "journals" placed in the glove compartments. The intent is to capture the creative thoughts of the drivers and passengers on what they do to "sustain" or last" in today's world. Local artists Mark Jeffery, Judd Morrissey, Claire Ashley and Jeff Carter, in collaboration with I-GO members, will turn one lucky I-GO car into a canvas of your journal entries (complete with green roof) for 2 weeks in October.
This project is part of South Lakeview's Art 44/46. If you'd like to contribute words of wisdom to the journals please reserve the following cars:
- 2136 N. Damen
- 3300 N. Ashland
- 836 W. Nelson
- 2940 N. Halsted
- 2036 N. Clark
Or email Deb Ackles 50 words or less sharing how you "sustain" or "last" in today's world.

Be a part of the Healthy Streets Campaign
As an I-Go member, you know what it's like to experience the road from all angles. Drive With Care is a program aimed at reducing car crashes in Chicago as a way to make the streets safer for all users. One element of the campaign is the 30k Plan - getting 30,000 drivers to commit to safe driving. You can be one of them by signing the Drive With Care Pledge online. And for your commitment to safe driving - you will receive a keychain and sticker! Visit www.driverspledge.com
Got a snappy tagline or photo?
Well we want to hear it and see it! For the entire month of October, I-GO is accepting entries for our home page tagline and photos taken with members and an I-GO car. Anything goes so send your tagline entries and photos to Dackles@igocars.org and you could see your creative contribution on www.igocars.org.

Member Tips
- Running Early, Running late? No problem!
If you need to extend or release a reservation, you don't need an operator to assist you. Dial 773.278.4446 (press #1) and you will get our handy (and easy) automated phone reservation system. This allows you to check the availability of extending your reservation and enables you to release a reservation so other members can use the car. Don't forget to have your member number and PIN ready. - Dude, where's my car?
Don't fret if a non I-GO car is parked in the I-GO reserved parking space, but do call our customer service to let us know! This enables us to assist you in finding a suitable space to park AND allows us to alert the next driver. The customer service number is posted in every I-GO car, 773.278.4446. - Visit Chi-Town Rewards businesses and save money!
I-GO member Steve Wise, "I used my I-GO Smart Card to purchase a "dual flush" toilet at Greenmaker building supply and saved a ton of money. Not only have I saved money with my I-GO membership, but now I will also save water!"
